Kanki

Dearest Blessings~

My oh my Faith!  You woke at 2am this morning hungry for some solid food!  I brought you downstairs and you ate half a jar of bananas.  I was tired this morning getting ready after Faith's little wake up all.  The girls helped me drop Joshua off at school and then we headed to Faith's one year check up with the doctor.

Here are your measurements:

Length --  30"  (75th percentile)
Head Circumference -- 45 cm   (50th percentile)
Weight -- 19lb 8oz  (25th percentile)

So, you're long and skinny with an average head.  ;-)  You had 3 shots and a finger prick for a blood draw.  Overall you did well!  Everything was healthy and you're growing well.  The doctor said for us to just keep trying the sippy cups as we're weaning.  Grace, you colored while the pediatrician was looking at Faith.  Before the doctor came in, we all had a dance party in the room.  ;-)  The doctor was impressed with Faith's gross motor skills since she's walking/running.  :-)

We were home by 11am.  You all helped me straighten some things downstairs and we ran some laundry.  Everyone ate well for lunch .... Faith ate a whole hotdog!  We played downstairs afterward.

Daddy was home around 1pm .... he only worked half a day so he could continue with all our birthday celebrations.  ;-)  I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and then you two went down for a nap.  I worked on the laptop and daddy read.  Since you all continued to nap, I did 30 minutes on the exercise bike before we picked up Joshua from school.  I asked Grace what she napped about and she said butterflies .... cute!  ;-)

Joshua, you had a great day at school.  You ate all your turkey and even had second helpings.  Whoa!  You brought your books back home that you shared with the class.  Your show and share item had to relate to letter H .... you brought your harmonica.  ;-)

We went out to eat dinner after picking up Joshua to continue the birthday fun!  We ate at Kanki with Aunt Katie, Uncle Brennan, Felix (he slept on Aunt Katie), Mimi, and Grandpa Mike.  Joshua, you are terrified of fire .... at least close up.  We thought you'd be ok, but you cried.  You eventually calmed down and ate.  Grace, you sat right in front of the cook and never got scared.  In fact, we teased that you had such a 'straight face'!  Ha!  You were so serious watching the action that we laughed.  :-)  Faith, you did fine in your highchair.  You even ate some rice pieces, chicken, and french fry (from Grace's plate) .... it was a smiley face fry.  :-)

They gave Faith and I each a bowl of sherbet with a candle and the waiters sang.  Grace blew out Faith's candle but Faith ate the sherbet!  Ha!  We opened our birthday gifts from everyone .... music toys and clothes for Faith .... CD's, charm, and 'I Love Lucy' cup for me.

We had lots of leftovers and everyone had a late bedtime.  Joshua eventually said he had fun, but I'm sure it will be a long time before we try that again.   ;-)

Sleep tight little ones!

I love you all so much!

~Mommy
