Today we started the hiking portion of the Hiking Merit Badge. Joshua, you already have some 10 mile hikes under your belt from your Philmont trip. So, the rest of us need to catch up!
We started early by 730am since the heat of the day was quickly approaching. We completed 10 miles and we were done in 4 hours. We hiked the Neuse River Trail up to the Dam from the Abbott's Creek Trail. We had some struggles but everyone survived and did well in the end. :-)
I took you all out for lunch and then a fun ice cream treat afterwards. :-)
Joshua, you only need one 20 mile hike (all in one day) to finish the Merit Badge. Everyone else also needs 3 more 10 mile hikes.
This evening we relaxed and watched some American Ninja Warrior before bedtime.
